WHAT IS A NON-SURGICAL NOSE JOB?
Radiesse® is one of the dermal fillers that can be used to create symmetry, contour and offers great results in the creation of a Non-Surgical Nose Job. Its unique composition allows Dr. Christine the versatility to build up the bridge of a nose, straighten out a bump, balance asymmetry, smooth over sharp edges, correct any defects or create any desired shape that fits her patient’s profile. The results are immediate and can last up to one year. This is known as a Non-Surgical Nose Job or a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty.

The Non-Surgical Nose Job is in fact an augmentation procedure. Adding product and straightening the nose creates a more attractive and symmetric shape. The most common question Dr. Christine’s patients ask is if their nose will appear larger since she is adding volume. It is counter intuitive, but by straightening the nose with filler, the bump is eliminated making the nose appear smaller and more symmetric. A SURGICAL vs. NON-SURGICAL NOSE JOB
The permanence of a surgical nose job can be scary for a patient. Most patients think they know how they would like to look and bring in photos of their favorite lips, brow arch and noses. However, the best nose shape in the world may not fit everyone’s face the same. Dr. Christine takes her time during the complimentary consultation to discuss each patient’s unique personal features and how to enhance them. During the procedure, she involves the patient throughout the process and checks in frequently to ensure they are on the same page. Once they are both satisfied with the final results, Dr. Christine reminds them that this is an opportunity to test drive their new, improved and symmetric shape.

If a patient is not happy with their surgical nose job, they may have to endure additional surgeries to correct their concerns. This can be very stressful for both the patient and the surgeon. Dr. Christine advises most of her post-surgical patients to wait 6-12 months before deciding additional procedures. If injecting a dermal filler may address the patient’s concerns, she prefers the non-surgical route. Ultimately, Dr. Christine recommends that this decision be made between the patient and their surgeon. Non -Surgical Cosmetic Solutions with dermal fillers such as (Radiesse®, Juvederm®, Belotero® etc.) and neuromodulators such as (Botox® and Xeomin®) are temporary. If the patient loves the outcome, they may continue to receive dermal injections on a yearly basis to maintain. If they desire a more permanent result, they can proceed with the surgical option.

Most patients choose a Non-Surgical Nose Job over the surgical option despite the longevity of the surgical route. The surgical Rhinoplasty is a permanent procedure that can ultimately transform a patient’s face. It involves surgical risks such as anesthesia, bruising and a period of downtime that many of our patients cannot afford to have. The surgical risk factors are valid concerns, therefore, the majority of our patients choose to minimize their downtime, swelling, bruising and delight in a speedy return to their busy lives. Patients can enjoy their natural, smaller and more facially symmetric features immediately and for up to 1 year.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
The Non-Surgical Nose Job is a great alternative for patients with slight imperfections albeit genetically inflicted or post trauma/injury. Dr. Christine has performed the Non-Surgical Nose Job on patients with minor to moderate defects with great satisfaction. The procedure will not correct breathing problems or any internal anatomical defects. It is intended for cosmetic or aesthetic correction that is satisfactory to the patient. You are also a candidate if you are considering a surgical option and would like to test drive your shape. It is a permanent change to your face and it is understandable that this decision may require a great deal of thought. There are also the patients who have had surgical correction, but may not be completely satisfied with their results. They may be dissatisfied with their shape or may experience irregularities from post-surgical scarring. Approximately 50% of Dr. Christine’s patients have had surgical correction and simply desire to make minor changes.
DO’S AND DON’TS POST PROCEDURE
Preparing for your procedure is very important. Please let Dr. Christine know if you are on any blood thinners such as Coumadin, aspirin, ibuprofen (advil), or supplements such as Vitamin E, Fish oils, or ginkgo biloba. Ice is recommended to help control any swelling and to minimize the risk of bruising. Arnica pills, creams or gels may be used pre and post procedure. Most importantly, please do not wear any heavy glasses over your newly injected nose for at least one week.
